Which part of Kaoshiung are you in? I live in the Sky Tower, currently doing my internship. I would love to play some tennis but I left my racket back in Malaysia. I’m somewhat of an intermediate player but have not played for nearly a year so I may be rusty.

i will be in kaohsiung oct 13th till decem 2012. i am also looking to play tennis after hours or on weekend. I have no clues what available for tennis (place and costs) in the city of kaohsiung. Can you let me know how it works? i will be staying at the grand hi lai hotel. i would like to know ahead of time so i can decide to bring my tennis gears or not. my level is between 4-4.5. Thanks.

Hi, there are plenty of courts - some are free and some charge (but i don’t think its much). Most courts are clay, but I do know of 1 set of hard courts up in north koahsuing at the Koahsuing university which are free…i say bring your stuff and we’ll have a game…
Thanks for the reply. I will bring the gears then. Can you let me know how far are these courts from Grand Hi Lai hotel (Ai ho river area)? Do you also have to be member to play or just pay hourly fees to play? thank you in advance.

Hi, the courts at the university are quiet far from you i guess - probably about 30-40 mins on a bike…but I think there are some clay courts in central park which is really close to you…you don’t have to be a member there and i think they are free…

Just moved to Kaohsiung also, looking to play tennis. There are some hard courts in the Sanmin district, on the Changhe Road next to what I believe is a middle school. I looked it up today and have been looking for some people to play with. Can play any day (not yet working!) so if you fancy it contact me here. anyone know a good store that string tennis racquets? the last one I went they didn’t do a good job.
And where do you guys go to buy tennis balls? how much are they usually the canned ones. thanks

Hey there, just joined Forumosa. I’ve been living in Kaohsiung for quite a while - live close to Yangming Tennis Center （阳明网球中心）。My level’s around 3.5 overall. At times above at times below I guess…I’m pretty flexible regarding time so if anyone’s interested let me know
