Hi guys,
I’m going to Phuket, Thaland for Chinese new year arriving the Monday of the holiday and staying until 3 days after the end of the holiday. Anyone else going there and want to teem up for sightseeing/travelling?
Any general suggestions/advice also welcome.
A.
Oh well I guess I’ll just have to find more interesting people there then
You’ll find all sorts over there! Be careful and have a great time!
Right time of year for boat trips, hit some islands. Head to the top of Phuket Hill and eat at the restaurant there.
Phuket is a lot of fun. I’d avoid staying in Patong too long though (unless you are into whoring) as there are better beaches and nicer resorts elsewhere. Getting around is pricey in Phuket, I have found it cheaper to rent a car than to rely on taxis and shuttle buses (especially if you stay in the more scenic beach areas like Kata or Bangtao). This also allows you to hop around and check out some other things, like if you are a fan of Thai food, try the Natural Restaurant in Phuket Town, and if you are into fusion try Tatanka in Bangtao. The roads on Phuket are really good (even a few 4 lane highways) so scooting is not always the best option, unless of course you are just putting around Patong with tilac on back, but the boys in brown (cops) are a little stricter in Phuket and don’t mind sticking it to whitey on scooter. In a car, its easy breezy.
