The 7:45

I’ve watched you on the train,
And I’m insane,
To believe,
You see me,
Every morning,
On the 7:45,
You never smile,
Me too,
We just stare through faces,
Well I did until,
I saw your eyes blazing,
Blue fire,
Sultry mouth,
Ringlets of blond gold,
Uncontrolled,
I see you.
I should be arrested,
Every morning,
A fat cop,
Ought drag me down to the station,
Hasn’t happened yet.
So I line up the next morning,
If I had a hat and a wink,
I’d tip it and try it,
But I don’t,
I wonder what it takes,
I get pent up,
I miss things,
Chances,
Words,
I’m nervous,
You should stare through me,
You do stare through me,
I’m lost again,
Until tomorrow.

Love it!

Of course the last time I caught the 7:45 to anywhere was very long time ago.

Great!
“The 7:45 to Nowhere” would work as a title.

I did meet a girl (in the biblical sense) on a train once. Seduced her by reading to her Ian McEwan’s ‘Between the Sheets’ to pass the time on the train from Sydney to Melbourne. It wasn’t a particularly romantic book but it was a racy and intelligent with just the right title.

Good stuff, Fox.

Nice!! Does bring back memories of meeting strangers on a train, but that was ages and ages ago

Thanks for sharing Fox!
