I don’t see Sowell’s quote as relying on morality. Hers does. he’s not saying facts trump morality. He’s saying it’s futile arguing with someone like AOC who think morality trumps fact. If you think that is factually false, well,

I don’t particularly have a problem with the Sowell quote in isolation. People on both sides rely on morality to form their opinion, just look at the religious right. My argument is that using it to rebut a false quote is hypocritical.

It is a paraphrase, and it would be better if it was the exact quote, but it’s materially correct–it conforms to the meaning of what she actually said, even in context. I checked myself, a lot of times memes are simply not true. But, I wouldn’t contest this one. I’m not sure if she ever clarified it…
