Why don’t you take her at face value? Maybe she really was stalked and nearly hurt by a disturbed person.
The ol’ spoof eatin’ babies trick, eh? I just knew it!
Apparently AOC’s millennial attention span has run out on impeachment. She’s “over it.” It’s “boring.”
“Impeachment of this president is the short-term action we need to preserve our democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the town hall. "But if we are really going to thrive as a country, we need to make long-term investments and keep our eyes on the prize of social and economic and racial justice in the United States of America. And that’s what this is all about.”
Interesting comment from AOC. Pelosi seems to be arguing that impeaching Trump is the long-term action needed to preserve US democracy.
What does it say about AOC’s worldview that she’s “over it” and it’s only a short-term fix anyway?
A guy less cynical than me could say that AOC thinks impeachment is only what the US needs to keep government together long enough to completely change it. And nobody has ever been able to pin down whether the DSA would honor a democratic vote to return the means of production to the private sector (one assumes in their view that private industry would have been nationalized in the first place as a result of a democratic vote).
Based on what we learned about her GND - that climate change was merely a vehicle for economic change - and based on this comment, it’s beginning to look like AOC wants profound change indeed. Perhaps she’s become bored by climate change now, too. ![]()
Very interesting choice of language by AOC. I think she has more than a little Fidel Castro in her. ![]()

That w/o Trump, there is no Squad, ergo, no need for anyone to care about AOC. ![]()
That’s hateful bigotry. Or something.
The Squad are living proof that US politics is a reality show.
I blame the Nixon_Kennedy debates.
Nixon won on the radio. Couldn’t see him sweat.
Wow this is my first time to look at this thread and it has over 3,000 comments. This AOC woman seems to be going places.
MOstly circles.
Never let them see you sweat.
Man this one. It will be interesting when someone uses national politics to jump to Hollywood. She’s already typecast:
REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ (D-NY) I’m actually not overly concerned about this because I think our whole point of the public hearings is present the facts to the public and let the general public see the facts for themselves and understand why we have chosen to move forward with the impeachment inquiry. What we heard today was astounding and devastating news for the president and anyone in the administration, really partaking.
Frankly, this is devastating for the country. Our national security has been compromised, our elections potentially compromised. I think right now what Republicans have to do is decide what their role is going to be in the scope of history. We will look back at this time and really truly examine the moral decisions each member of Congress decided to make.
Ms. Talking Points.
OK, I am trying. About 9 minutes in she talks about how overwhelming and dysfunctional the lawmaking process is. Fairly interesting, but not news to like anyone to knows anything.
She’s trying to take the high ground but can’t find it because she doesn’t know which way is up.
It has happened. I finally agree with AOC on something. Pleasant surprise.
It will be prescribed soon enough.
AOC’s mouth hole opened this weekend.
Giving free shit to people who can afford it? Isn’t that what social security did for wealthy boomers?
In response, Ocasio-Cortez asked the panel: “Do we know how long puppies are allowed to stay with their mothers after a dog has given birth?” (They didn’t.) “Eight weeks,” she said. “So the market has decided that women and people who give birth deserve less time with their children than a dog. And I think that that, at its core, had shown that the market has failed to treat people with dignity and with basic respect. So when that happens, I think it’s our job as the public to redefine the rules of society and to treat people who give birth with the dignity that they deserve.” (Ocasio-Cortez currently gives her congressional staffers 12 weeks of paid family leave.)
