The Boring and Mundane Thread

I had a bit of a windfall yesterday. Was given 10 k that I wasn’t expecting, so took the wife out for dinner at the Japanese eatery just up the road from me in Sanchong.
For starters, we had the octopus sashimi in sesame paste. Tender as anything. Quite delicious.
Then we had a mixed sashimi platter (5 different fish, prawns and scallops).
To finish, we had the seafood rice triangles which were really yummy.
All of this washed down with a quart of Taiwan beer and free tea.
The damage? NT$600.
And people laugh at me for living in Sanchong.

Please share other mundane and snore-worthy stories!

Eating out irks me. I very rarely do it. Paying top dollar for some sullen twat to bring me mediocre food that I could cook better myself, is irritating. Plus, I don’t like being around people.
Japanese food, however, I can’t do at home. I can do tempura, but sashimi is an art. So I go out once or twice a year to eat exotic fare.
That’s my inane post for today. What’s yours?

Sanchong actually has good restaurants that most foreign residents would probably never find out about. A lot of businesses and factories there so there’s also many good restaurants.

Here’s my boring and mundane contribution: Sanchong also has an Indian restaurant named Burans Indian Kitchen (達達印度料理), not far from Sanchong Elementary School MRT Station.

Mundane and boring things… Like being in a fully packed bus a rainy day, passing through Sanchung.

I hate rainy Mondays.

And it’s not even Monday.

It’s Tuesday.

Also, I hurt in unusual places.

There’s a black one.

It’s about ten minutes away from where I live. Prices look a little high, but Indian in Taiwan doesn’t come cheap. I will most certainly give it a try. Indian is my favorite cuisine.

Waitron: What can I get you, sir?
Me: Anything but Taiwanese food.
Waitron: But this is an Indian restaurant, sir!
Me: Yes, but I don’t want Taiwanese food.
Waitron: I don’t understand, sir.
Me: Look. Bring me what the owner would eat at home, not the watered-down muck.
Waitron: Ah! I see. I presume that’s extra spicy, sir?
Me: You’ve been reading my mail.
