The British Royal Family thread

They must have the queen on the most advanced longevity diet possible or something. She just won’t go down.

I just looked up their ages and she’s 93, the next in line is 71, and then it’s William, who is now 37. So, under the generous assumption that the queen and Charles both last to 100, William will take the throne at age 66, which isn’t really that old. And Charles probably won’t last as long, since men tend to croak sooner. So William could become king before he becomes a senior citizen.

If my math is wrong please correct me as my math skills are phenomenally bad.

Can’t they just abdicate when they get old like most other monarchs?

I think Harry became disillusioned with the royal family long before he married Meghan. Back when he saw how they treated his own mother.

Princess Di was an upper class British woman who fits your ideal royal’s wife description, but they treated her like shit, anyway.

Abdicate?

I honestly don’t know how monarchies work. I’m American. Just talking out of my ass here tbh.

Yes. Brain fart.

A young version of Naomi Campbell would fit right in , I guess there is no one of her caliber around these days。 Actually she would have been out of Harry’s league.

Margaret used to have a vodka and orange for breakfast followed by Famous Grouse or Tanqueray, depending upon her preference at the time, plus 60 cigarettes a day. She made it past 70.

Those fuckers are unkillable.

the queen sees it as her god given duty to do her job as the queen until death. i’m sure the others see it that way too, especially charles.

even if wills is in late 60’s its still pretty old. people living longer is just another sign of how outdated this royal system is. get rid of it!

cut ties with his family how so? is he going to be banished from the kingdom or what?
by british girl you must mean another upper class woman, not sure how a normal serf would ‘understand their customs’

I don’t really care tbh.

The history of the Windsors, from The Crown:

There’s always been the dazzling Windsors and the dull ones. Through George V to Queen Victoria back an uninterrupted line of stolid, turgid dreariness, but alongside that dull, dutiful, reliable, heroic streak, runs another: dazzling, brilliant, individualistic, and dangerous.

So, for every Victoria, you get an Edward VII; for every George V, you get a Prince Eddy; for every George VI, you get an Edward VIII; for every Lilibet, you get a Margaret.

I guess we can add that for every William, you get a Harry. Lol.

House of Windsor started 1917, but I get your point.

Well they all belong to the same lineage, and it’s not my point, it’s The Crown’s point.

Possibly by the tax route yes. He’s going to find it hard to survive without his titles and his dad. Yes, sure he can make money on Oprah, selling stories etc , but finally interest will wain, especially as he ages. For normal people the money he could make would last a few lifetimes but not for them. He’s hardly going to be hanging out eating English breakfast with the chavs at Morrisons or the Canadian equivalent.

He might have to.

Around the time frame a lot of illusions were dying in the trenches.

A dynasty for managed decline.

Not my circus, not my monkeys… but I might just buy a ticket to watch this.

Well, Brits come in all colors and from a variety of cultural backgrounds as well. Although it may whiten back up and homogenize what with the Brexiting. That’s what they want, right?
