Thousands of Korean transnational adoptees have gone through some similar things—albeit with some key differences including the presence of the US military (not a thing in the PRC) and no one child policy (which of course was a thing in the PRC). South Korea even has a Truth and Reconciliation Committee reporting on its findings, which was all over the news this spring. What would it take for the PRC to confront its pasts?
