The COVID humbug thread (2021 edition)

I hope the French people rise up to this National Socialism shit:

Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

Any source? Honestly, it sounds rather like TPTB spreading rumours (which they could not legally implement) to scare the shit out of people so that they rush to comply.

He is cognitively well enough to spout out the latest propaganda:

Again, more singing from the song sheet:

Well, realistically, with technology these days, he could be clinically dead and still be well enough to spout propaganda

Seriously, this is f’ing scary stuff. The US has extremely good vaccination coverage, and as I’ve posted several times, it doesn’t seem to be working miracles: while there is some variation in deaths and hospitalization rates between states, vaccination coverage explains very little of that variance. The assertion that unvaxxed States are being decimated while heavily-vaxxed States are not is absolutely false. Misinformation, if you will.

The CDC almost certainly knows this. I can’t be the only person with an internet connection and a copy of LibreOffice Calc. And presumably the POTUS knows it, too.

The implication here is that if we don’t have 100% vaccination - including babies and frail old people, presumably - then the target has not been met. “The pandemic is the unvaccinated” really gives the game away - it’s all about vaccination, nothing more.

She looks worried about going to prison. Ha ha .

What i found interesting was that they hoped to say that she had psychological problems.

Well, it was only a matter of time before they started locking up grannies. Wasn’t it originally the elderly who were the target of our concern - the reason we were locking down and performing daft hygiene rituals?

Interesting also that she doesn’t plan to appeal, presumably on legal advice. The implication is that the State no longer needs to prove that someone is potentially infectious before imposing quarantine measures (which, in times gone by, was a broadly-accepted principle). No, if the State says you’re a public menace, then you are.

Damn scary when the only sane person in the room is being tested for psychological problems by the loonies.

Talking about Facebook

“They’re killing people,” Mr Biden told reporters at the White House on Friday. “The only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated.” Looks like @cake was right. Singing from the same sheet.

Do they release stats about the vaccination status of covid deaths? In the US? In the UK?

I want to congratulate this thread as being a really positive happy place. Good vibes. Not much discord. I mean it .

Quite a few Brits in here, I think, and whining makes us happy.

Here is another witch hunt 42K fine. Judge sounds very impartial:

Apparently some bigwig lawyers are looking at getting on board for the appeal.

Hello Sir! Very Xiansheng. I like that. Rarely, if ever heard it.

Did you ever move back to Taiwan since I spoke to you in 2016 or thereabouts?

Not sure of the series. I think it’s still in production. I just catch bits and pieces there on my wanders round late night TV. Maybe life on Earth itself is a movie. They say All The World’s a Stage. A company called AMC may have been producing the series I saw, not sure now.

Imagine the Truman Show, but with two philosophically opposed production teams in Christoff’s control room, each barking different orders at the actors. That would be crazy . I think it’s somewhat uhh, analagous to the situation we find ourselves in.

The actors in the Truman Show get their orders via radio mic/headset. What if you were an actor, and one minute, heard orders to promote vaccines to friends and family. The next minute, were reading a mainstream news article about horrific vaccine side effects. You would be a little confused as to what script to follow. That’s where we find ourselves now.

Use any metaphor you want, this world is teetering between two very different futures. All I can do is stay safe and enjoy the ride.

This is what I think is happening. I saw in one state or another (California IIRC) the revised COVID figures down, after they admitted bumping them up. This is why I don’t read any COVID news.

  • We don’t know if daily case figures are true. They are probably exaggerated.
  • Vaccination rates too. Why should we believe them?
  • I don’t think anyone believes the ‘new strain’ stories.

All these pseudo high-brow discussions about COVID are based on numbers. Numbers we get from untrustworthy sources. Look at people discussing ‘spike proteins’ as if any of us really know anything. And I agree they can’t legally implement anything. Right now, they very much sound like a witch uttering vile curses as she falls down a well, scratching the walls with her fingers.

The whole thing is just an infomercial for Pfizer.

I’m not saying it’ll all go away if we just close our eyes. But I am not investing any energy into the whole show.

I’m not sure if it’s chutzpah. Just logic in the face of dystopia.

I get the feeling that there are a lot of closet Infowars listeners in this thread. Is that true?

  • Have you asked your employer if they are going to ‘force’ vaccines? I did. A young lady in admin told me it’d be alright, as they won’t ask people with allergies to get the vaccine. So far, despite all the hysteria, it looks like she is right. My boss is not pushy. People close to her say she will probably not ask anyone to do anything. You may have noticed the “sign in” protocol in shops is only being lethargically, half heartedly followed. The COVID spell is wearing off.

  • For the esoterically inclined. Where did COVID supposed to come from? A market. A soup. Wuhan. BAT SOUP. Who makes bat soup?

Witches.

The bat soup story may be the calling card of a certain quiet society. They are outright telling people that the COVID narrative is witchcraft. They figure that if we are dumb enough to follow it, we deserve to die, under survival of the fittest rules. I don’t agree with them, but that’s how their group-mind works.

  • I asked my students if they’ll take the vaccine. Most won’t. How does anyone know government stats are real?

  • How do you know your clients would care? Did you ask them?

  • The vaccine shortage narrative is humbug. Looks like artificial scarcity/marketing to me. Have you ever been in a SE Asian air ticket shop, and they told you there’s only “One seat left, do you wanna buy now?”

I read that if 30% of people don’t comply with a system, it will collapse. TPTW are doing a very good job of bluffing that unvaccinated people will be a tiny minority on the margins of society. But is that true? I actually think the majority of people in many countries have not been vaccinated. I don’t believe the government stats. I know (from asking people personally) that about 60 to 80% of westerners took the vaccine.

And everyone (Finley) , please stop citing 1939 and 1917 or whatever as historical precedents. U great big chicken littles. Not everything has to end in the apocalypse. We successfully got through Middle East conflicts, terrorism, and previous planned pandemics
 so
hopefully we will muddle through this poisonous comedy.

And yeah, it sucks
A lot of us lost income. The lockdowns are all about bankrupting people until they beg for vaccines. But Ima just eat rice and beans until the whole thing collapses.

This is one of the funniest I have seen since coronie spreads through the air conditioning vents.

Great to see. If things hot up, how would it end though?

Although, to paraphrase Warren Buffet, the government can stay irrational longer than you can survive on rice and beans

:+1:

I’m not an Alex Jones fan. Often PJW will give a good well- researched update on something current. Sometimes he’s right off piste.

Is this real? I doubt it. Probably from a different protest.

Well, the latest theory - supported at least halfheartedly by the WHO - is that the Chinese dropped a vial of the stuff in the streets of Wuhan. Completely by accident, of course.

A lot of the numbers are almost certainly BS. The only ones I trust absolutely are death records: it’s very hard for governments to fiddle with those. And the death records in most countries show that we had a rather nasty episode equivalent to two or three flu seasons rolled into one. Most countries saw no meaningful increase in the 12-month age-adjusted death rate. Hence the movement of cult goalposts to “cases” and “long COVID”.

The UK Office of National Statistics has been very good at collecting and publishing all the data related to COVID. They know full well that the numbers show that there was no catastrophic pandemic. They also know that nobody will look at the figures or understand them. At least, nobody who matters. Anybody who flags up the obvious can easily be branded a “far right” radical, a conspiracy theorist, or a Covidiot.

In some circumstances maybe. “30%” sounds like it’s plucked out of the air. Almost nobody supported Ceaușescu’s Romania (there was a higher level of passive dissent there than in most ‘Communist’ States) but it took a long time to collapse because the security services were just efficient enough to keep it rolling along.

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. All that matters is that enough people believe it. Go and have a look at the main COVID threads, where several people are absolutely convinced that COVID is the next Black Death, that Everyone Is At Risk, and that Anti-Vaxxers Are Killing People. Have a look at the court cases that @cake mentions: clearly, the petty authorities believe it. That matters.

Well, that’s also what the stats say. So presumably we can trust the stats on that.

They are not precedents. As you said earlier, it could easily go either way, and I was citing them as examples of how rapidly things can turn to ratshit with the introduction of a suitable catalyst. I’ve spoken to several older people about this - including people who lived through WW2 - and they all said the same thing: “I’ve never seen anything like this in my life”. This isn’t like the War On Terrorism, or even like the Cold War. I remember the Cold War; very few people worried about potential nuclear annihilation, even though historical records suggest it could have happened on at least two occasions. I’m pretty old, and never in my lifetime have I seen this level of public hysteria; nor have I seen that hysteria deliberately engineered by government, or the criminalization of eating and drinking. This is not historically normal, so historically-abnormal things may follow.

The problem with COVID, as you intimated, is that nobody really understands it, and stuff you don’t understand is much more scary. I have a science degree, including math and statistics to first-year undergrad level, and a slightly-better knowledge of physiology and pathology than the average man in the street (we have a surfeit of doctors and nurses in my family and I grew up reading my parents’ anatomy textbooks for fun, and kept doing it over the years). I know about brainwashing from an academic viewpoint (fascinating, if horrifying, to see it play out in real life). I can read a scientific paper, understand what has been written, and judge whether it shows what the authors think it shows. I have enough knowledge to know what I don’t know (and what cannot be known by those who confidently spout pseudoscientific BS on TV). Basically, I can look at the facts and say “meh” from a reasonably educated viewpoint. Most people can’t. They believe what they’re told.

That’s what I thought. But now we’re all vaxxed - and we were promised that all would be well if we took our vaccines - and they’re still blithering about variants and fourth waves. COVID deaths are down in the statistical noise, comparable with drug-overdose deaths and suicides. It seems obvious to me that there’s something else going on here. They didn’t bring down the world economy and every Democratic institution just so that Pfizer could make a few billion $. That’s chump change compared to the loss of tax revenue. I don’t pretend to know what is going on, but it appears to be something really big. Whatever the payback is, it would have to justify a multi-trillion-dollar investment.

It might all just fade away and it’ll be written up as a regrettable collective madness. The architects of it will walk away whistling and pretend they didn’t do anything bad. Or it might not. And IMO it would be worth getting one’s ducks in a row just in case, because it’ll be really hard to do so if/when the shit hits the fan.
