The Employment Gold Card Super-Thread

Apart from you and Fuzzy BBQ who have gone from Gold Card to citizenship do you know of others? I would assume a lot of young males would not do that with military service beckoning unless they have an exemption.

Hi All,

Today my stage went from WDA to Consulting with Ministry of Digital Affairs after providing some supporting documents requested by the WDA about a week or so. As I’ve read in the forum this is essentially the decision-making stage and read it can take 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity of the application. I first applied back on September 24th. Can anyone confirm the validy of the idea that this is basically the approval or rejection stage?

Approval, Rejection, ask for more documentation or refer to another field.

Sounds right but I believe it’s also the longest stage, could be up to a month

That is a beautiful chart!

Where is it from?

@fifieldt - might be worth adding/linking this chart in some visible places, like the official GC application site and/or here: After submitting your application | Taiwan Gold Card - Taiwan Foreign Talent Community

Its attached on the foreign talent gov website (bottom of page) - link

Hi guys! I have now passed the qualification check  Yay!

I have a question: do they collect our passport for inspection and ship it back to us or they just return it to us immediately the same day? For reference, I am going to the overseas center!

If someone can share their experience for the inspection that would be awesome!

Edit: I found this in an old chat here in this thread:
They took my passport and the document that you print from the Gold Card application site, scanned my passport, and returned it to me 20 minutes later.

Is it still the same?

That was my experience with the office in Ireland, but there has been other experiences shared that seem vary depending on which overseas office it is.

That was my experience about a month ago, except it was closer to 5min than 20. :sunglasses:

New update, so as promised I am updating:
28.08 - Sent the application
09.10 - “Review by the Workforce Development Agency”
19.10 - Email communication but status not changed: “Review by the Workforce Development Agency” (WDA).
31.10 - “Consulting with Ministry of Economic Affairs” (MEA).

In fact this is one step back (I was in WDA), so I guess from now on it is going to be on the dance between WDA and MEA.

If I can survive this loop, it will go to “Review by the National Immigration Agency” (NIA), which seems to be the last step.

Anyways it has only been one month so far, so I am not complaining

Seems like our timelines are pretty similar. I’m in Consulting with Ministry of Digital Affairs since last Thursday. Excited for the decision!

I am soo jealous/happy for you.

How long did it take overall?

"Hi, I am new here. I have just received approval for my Gold Card, and I am scheduled to collect it in three days as stated in the notice: ‘If you have applied from within Taiwan: Please wait 3 working days after receiving this notice.’

I applied under the education category, having obtained a Ph.D. from a top university. I relocated to Taiwan six months ago under a work visa and am currently employed at a research institute.

I submitted my application for the Gold Card on October 18th, which happened to be a Saturday. I made the payment at a convenience store, and the payment was updated on October 22nd, which was a Wednesday. On the same day, I received an email regarding a minor correction needed on my application (I had incorrectly entered my passport expiry date in the wrong format). The next day, I checked the status, and it showed ‘Review by the National Immigration Agency.’ Based on information available in online threads, this was the final step. However, two days later, it changed to ‘Review by the Workforce Development Agency,’ and it remained like that until yesterday, which was October 31st.

Today, on November 1st, I checked the status and it changed within one hour to ‘Approved, card is processing’ (I can’t remember the exact term, but it was something similar) and completed. I have submitted my passport, degree certificate, and an overseas mission certified copy of my degree certificate, all of which were included in the online application (no physical documents). In total, it took 8 working days from the day they received the payment to receive the approval. It seems my case was processed relatively quickly. Best of luck to others going through a similar process!"

Congrats man! I can only dream mine could be that quick. But then again, I am just started my second month of processing…

Hey guys, application still shows in Consulting with Ministry of Digital Affairs but when I do a case status check, it says “no data” any ideas?

Disregard, now it appears under the case status check.

19.10 - Email communication but status not changed: “Review by the Workforce Development Agency” (WDA).
31.10 - “Consulting with Ministry of Economic Affairs” (MEA).
02.11 - “Review by the Workforce Development Agency” (WDA).

Hi Alec, from what I’ve read on the forum from others, if your stage goes from Consulting with ministry of… back to WDA without receiving additional information, it will generally mean approval. Not sure if anyone else can back up this idea
