Canada would have 72 Electoral votes and outside of Alberta, they'd solidly vote democratic

13 votes for Quebec
10 votes for BC
9 votes for Alberta
4 votes for Manitoba
4 votes for Saskatchewan
3 votes for Nova Scotia
3 votes for New Brunswick

Are a large number of Americans trying to leave the US? Is living in the US that bad that a exodus of 20 million is clamouring at the border hoping to be let in?
For the ones that do, aren’t the ones that claim they want to move to Canada usually Democrat voters?
In another vein, the EU has open borders amongst its sovereign countries and between member states, there hasn’t been that much migration relatively speaking. People like living in their familiar homes. It takes a lot to get the average to go through the hassle of packing up and going.
Italy is still Italian. Germany is still German. France is still an asshole.
Not that I’m aware, but Canada is English speaking with many cultural and historical similarities. Also kind of wide open. American cities suck. You never know.
Why assume they would leave because it was bad? It would open up an option for many. How are land prices twenty miles across the border?
Most of that seems to be hyperbole.
Right, as I said, Canada has baseball and hockey and football I think. Lots of crossover. Lots.
Definitely more nomadic culture as they all immigrated to there some generations ago. But still many Texan prefers to stay in Texas and not move to Oklahoma, many people living in NY would not consider moving to New Jersey as examples
Not true at all. Some do, but moving to another state is a common and normal thing in the U.S. People go where the jobs are. If that means moving halfway across the country, that’s the American way.
I have no stats, so I take your word for it, maybe the people I know have old world mentality They could be the strange people and not the other way around
Plenty of those in the US move around state to state, especially to escape high taxes, find better jobs, etc.
My family started in Italy, came to the US in the very early 1900s, stayed in NY for a while. A generation later they headed westward and settled down in Denver. A generation later they settled down in California where I was born and raised. Now, after my grandparents passed, all of my family and extended family left California and scattered across the US. Some went north to Seattle, others went back to the east coast, some back to Denver, others to Arizona, and Utah.
Dozens upon dozens of other people I know have families that move around too. Are there people who never leave their place of birth? Sure. But there are may more who do move around.
Some pics would be nice Just kidding. Seems your family really have the nomadic culture in the blood Interesting
As we all here in this forum are (or have been) living in Taiwan as a foreigner, I guess we have lots of nomadic culture gathered here, but still many people prefers to return to what they call “home” later, definitely not all, as many settles here for life, but some still returns to their roots.
But as said, I have no stats on how many changes states in the US (Or leave Taiwan to return home), just hearsay on family and friends so I will just take your word for it
Added a “keep your kids far away from danger” message to stay on topic
@Marco already mentioned the fact this would add like a couple hundred reliable electoral votes to the Democratic Party, but you’d also be absorbing hundreds of thousands of radical immigrants from overseas adding to our already tense issues of assimilation, inflammatory protests, and domestic terror.
