Beyond industry and government policy, Kaohsiung’s urban atmosphere has also become a draw. An American journalist based in Taipei said some friends are considering transferring their children from Taipei American School to one of Kaohsiung’s new international schools. In addition to the schools’ educational philosophy, they are attracted by Kaohsiung’s younger and more open lifestyle.

Yeah but I don’t always ,and I go to big coffeeshops in busy areas eveeyday . I might see, I might not. I walk around the biggest scenic lake I might see a couple on weekends but not on weekdays.
I’ll join gym exercise classes of all types and I’m always the only Westerner. I’ll go to to the biggest gym in Taiwan and see maybe one or two there a day . There are very few westerners in Kaohsiung in reality. Most people seem to be students in NYSU and KMU etc. Of course you will see a smattering of tourists close to the harbour.
Maybe the french school should share classrooms with the finnish school…
International schools from english speaking countries would be far easier to market.
