The Morgue 2013

The passing of an American legend.

George Jones

RIP Possum

I can’t recall having any kind of emotional response to the passing of a celebrity until today. He lived a rollercoaster of a life, and it’s a bit of a miracle he lived to be 81.

Horrible news. Huge talent, and from all accounts a really nice guy in real life.

James Gandolfini dead at 51

That’s really too bad. He was probably America’s greatest actor of recent times. 51 Jesus?

Theres a separate thread on this, but here’s a good article:

Broadcaster Alan Whicker dies at 87. Used to enjoy “Whickers’ World”.

It’s hard to keep up sometimes. Mr Whicker’s passing passed me by.

Now Mel Smith has died, aged 60. He’s not the gorilla.

And now I’m watching George Jones vids.

Best news I have heard all day!

Actor Dennis Farina, loved his stuff.

I can’t believe nobody posted this one. I didn’t bother because I figured someone would beat me to it. Anyway, one of my favourites–dead at the age of 74

Thanks for all the great tunes J. J.

Indeed.
I don’t think I would have survived high school without this gem:

R.I.P.

Yep, was so sad when i heard the news
I remember very well seeing him live like 10 or 15 years ago.

Elmore Leonard:

Seamus Heaney. bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23898891 So saddening. :frowning:

The UK has the highest combined debt in the developed world, just saying… :unamused:

And David Frost follows Seamus Heaney, at the same age:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23920336

For those who may not have heard of him, he was a longstanding broadcaster with the BBC who began his career in the sixties with That Was the Week That Was, which included skits from actors who were to go on to become part of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Frederik Pohl. My favourite people are dropping like ninepins. io9.com/rip-frederik-pohl-the-ma … 1241405614

I know. I get this feeling about once a year. Stop dying, everyone!
