Looking his “Welcome to the Party” video for a few seconds, I’d say he certainly was about that life, as the kids say.
That’s why asked, seeing the video.
But it’s one thing to project that life on a MV and another to be about that life. Idk if he was actually affiliated or just has some rough looking guys come in and throw up signs for the videos.
The difference between “gangsta” rappers from now and before is rappers were leading that life from their environment talking about it, now these guys try to go into the life to get street cred to rap. Like 69 snitching on everyone once it came to it.
Seems like he had afflictions based on the articles posted.
I’d have to disagree. Don’t knowuch about 69. Didn’t follow him or his case, but with these kids, particularly the black kids I certainly would say that none of it for street cred as they are from the streets.

Oh man, I loved those tv commercials. Poor guys.
Have to admit I lose a little respect for them in their need, though. Used to really like the pro poker player Daniel Negreanu … until I learned that he’d plugged his scalp. Weakness where I didn’t think I’d see it. Still like him, but it’s different.
