Shih Ming-teh, who was jailed for 25 years under martial law, served as the Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party from 1993 to 1996, was a Member of the Legislative Yuan from 1993 to 2002, and led the red shirt army movement against President Chen Shui-bian in 2006.
