The new BWS 125!

AAAAAAAARGHHHH…Weird looking thing it is…but very very hot! It looks like a mixture between the Hartford Magic 125 and the Cuxi…and a bit of Fighter in it too…

I drool over one near my school…NT72 000!!! Yikes, even more out of reach than my dream Hartford…:frowning:

I agree… It’s like a scooter GS, awesome, I was expecting them to let this model die along with it’s previous 2-stroke engine, but they gave it an update, who’d have thought?..

[EDIT:] the one you posted is a concept model mind, the one that’s actually for sale looks like this…
not as cool as the one in the OP, but still not bad and interestingly yet another TW bike/scooter company making KYMCO and especially SYM’s design offerings look like amateur hour nonsense… how long before they jolt themselves conscious and fire their designers?..

Its a 125 2-stroke? That sounds fast and fun.

no no… the outgoing model was a 2 stroke… this new one is certain to be a 4 stroke…

I likey! Guess I’ll be saying bye-bye to my Cygnus after summer. I want one in white and black. Price is kinda steep though for a 125, that’s in the Majesty price range. I remember my Cygnus was only $58K, but that was 3 years ago. Please post a review if any of you guys get one.

It has two little lights on the back…wonder where we can get a shot of the …err…rear.

What would make me NOT buy it(ahahha as if I can afford it) is that the space for your legs is way too small. I want to fit my dog in there if I have an emergency…

ps. I said space FOR your legs, not between, so no funny jokes can be made with that last line!!

Looks all right. Bit pricey, though. Scooter prices sure have gone up.
A buddy from Yamaha emailed me a video of it.
I uploaded it to livevideo.

raise your hands if you don’t get why they keep on using the orange scoot for the ads. Orange and baby blue in the video…yikes.

won’t be long till they have a Hello Kitty version!

Sounds like a lot if that’s accurate for what seems to amount to a rather impractical, small scooter with some flashy bits stuck to it. I remember the last one, it was quick and then it would turn to jelly on a corner. There was also no space for my size 9.5 feet.
I think they should have left it in the past.

about the new one is that they shaved a lot off the sides…the old one had such broad hips. I was on the verge of buying one, but tried getting on some that were parked in a row of scooters…and you have to climb over the seat, no space for your legs on the sides…

that is a very expensive scooter, and only 125cc… i wouldnt buy it that that price, dont get me wrong, i love the BWS 100cc but 72K… with that u can buy the gpo 150 or the CPI or other similar scooters with more power…

I took my Hartford in today and saw that the shop now has a second hand BWS…for NT66 000. It’s black…I also raved about it when I went to the store first…so when they saw me pull up they all jumped in front of it and tried to hide it.

hahahhaha…I love mechanics.

I was thinking about buying the new BWS 125 and was wondering if anyone could provide me with some reviews if they bought one.

Also, is it still $72,000?

You can pick it up for under $60k if you look hard enough, avoid the ‘X’ model as its just the same bike with gold rims and a digital clock for alot more money.
I tune them for a living and sell tuning parts for them.

Look for the Zuma-125 section (same bike)

As for a review… its an awesome bike when you do some light tuning, think of it as a automatic supermoto.

I loved looking at the pics…

I’ve never seen an exhaust like this before!

Wrong bike, thats a 50cc!.
Go to the 125cc section, over in asia the bike is called BWS-125, in the states its called Zuma-125.

Thanks for the advice. When you say under $60k, this is for a new one, right?

Do you know of any places I might want to check out in Kaohsiung?

Also, where is your business located? I might be interested in a few mods if I buy one.

They were about 55k new but i think 60k is doable now.
I cant advise where, its who you know and all the people i know are in taichung so i cant be much help.
All i can suggest is to search around.

My business is web based with a workshop that used to be taichung, now its in xindian.
So dont think i can be of much use :frowning:

I’m guessing that old Battery 9 will be on your case very soon!

I was getting our BWS 125 serviced last week at the YSP shop on Beituen rd in Taichung and I asked about new prices for BWS 125…they said 72k~74k depending on he trim…AFAIK there are 2 different trims available.

Yamaha Taiwan now has an English page.
