The Nice Bar I liked to Go Turned into a Real NAZI Shithole!

Hi there. There is a bar near my home where I frequently went to hang out. It used to be very open-minded, always in support of a free world view, and most importantly, anti-fascist and anti-racist. Starting a few years ago, this place turned into a real NAZI shithole. The rhetoric is pro-fascism and pro-AFD, the equivalent to MAGA. When I express my feelings or opinion, everyone just gears up against me and blurts out their shit simultaneously, so what I said is buried in a mountain of BS. Worst of all, whenever I had a point that was indisputable, even with the lowest strategies of pushing down someone’s argument, I was kicked out and told not to come back for a while.

Now I have decided to give up on this old hangout of mine. It’s lost to those anti-liberal, supposedly free speech NAZI mob. I think it is time to look for new ways to fight these A-holes, and I have some ideas on how to go about it.

So I will be very busy, and this will be my last post here as well.

I assumed it’s a metaphor for a specific internet forum.

One moral of the story, I suspect, is that my longstanding mute of the politics section continues to be a good idea.

AFD? Quick search shows that it’s a “far right” political group in Germany. I’m guessing the OP is in Germany? Why post on Forumosa?

One of our mods is living in Germany, plenty of people with ties or history in Taiwan post here. Sometimes they come back

I don’t get this. AFD is stronghold in the former East Germany. The area of the country that has the least to be guilty about when it comes to WW2 crimes. Thuringia ain’t Bavaria and it didn’t contribute to the rise of that little Bavarian corporal, with accentuation on Bavaria!

Guilty on the Stasi but that’s a different matter.

Being pro AfD is hardly pro fascist because they’ll do a 180 should they ever get elected like literally everyone else.

As the saying goes, it’s not an airport. If you don’t like open political discussion (or are incapable of muting it) and/or can’t get by without leveling insults at people (leading to suspensions), indeed not the place for you.
