Vice President Kamala Harris will now be in the awkward position of leading the ticket to “defend democracy” after being made the nominee through succession by defenestration.
Any way you can do a better job at posting tweets?
And this shift and handoff is meaningless until Harris secures the delegates:
Democratic party rules don’t allow Biden to simply pass his 3,896 delegates to Harris or another candidate.
Harris will now have to convince those 4,000 delegates and 700 superdelegates to support her and name her nominee.
However, delegates are free agents who can choose to support whichever candidate they want - without any input from voters at this stage since primaries and caucuses were already held.
To paraphrase Leonard Cohen: democracy is bought and sold and bought again in the USA.
And Hollywood still wants us to believe it’s all just TV:
Now that Deiocrats have managed to get rid of Biden after the shocking discovery that he’s senile, they have to figure a way to tell his black female vice-president that she’s not qualified to be president. No matter what they do though they’ll end up being hoisted by their own petard and they know it.
Moving on would be more interesting than seeing posters who last week were claiming Biden is unfit to run, now decrying the end of democracy after he’s chosen not to run.
It’s a president’s job to lie. The way Kamala Harris stuck to the lie to the bitter end that Joe is mentally fit shows she’s well qualified to be president…
I think you’re being a bit dramatic like the Jan 6 nonsense. Many are rightly pointing out the media and democrats have tried to hide his mental decline hoping he could just keep it together long enough.
And then after becoming the nominee, rich donors and powerful democrats basically pushed him out. It’s ironic to many of us that keep hearing Trump is the end of democracy when this is their play. He clearly did not step down on his own accord.
I don’t see anyone here unless you want to point it out that it’s as serious as the end of democracy like people have been saying here about Trump.
Joe should step down now rather than attempt to serve out the last six months of his term. Harris would be sworn in as president, all but cementing her role as his successor while giving voters a test rrun of her as commando-in-chief.
