The robot revolution thread

Do they come with a Capuchino machine installed?

Aside from lunar excavation and space exploration, IDK what the hell these humanoid things will do.

And quite honestly, octopus or bug like things would seem to work much better.

If one costs about the same as a washing machine and a drier, wouldn’t you buy one to fold your laundry?

No. What kind of person wouldn’t fold their own laundry?

The kind who wouldn’t wash and hang dry their own laundry?

A new washer is about 1K US. I don’t think these humbots are gonna be so cheap.

Seriously, wth are they going to be used for, or is the anthrodesign just a head fake?

What if they cost more than the combined price of a washer and dryer, but cheaper than a car?

So much for kids?

More time to spend with the kids, until the robots can do that for us too.

Better than Raygun! :joy:

When the robots become fast at navigating around autonomously, humans will have no chances against them.

I never enjoyed setting up the tent anyway. Have at it, Dogbot. And start the fire, would you. Good boy.

Wtf could a robot ‘nurse’ like that do lol.

HitchBOT, a social experiment created by Canadian professors David Harris Smith and Frauke Zeller, successfully hitchhiked across Canada in 2014 (covering over 10,000 kilometers in 26 days), Germany (February 2015, for 10 days), and the Netherlands (June 2015, for three weeks). It relied on strangers to transport it, as it was immobile on its own, and was designed to test human-robot interactions and trust in technology. These journeys were generally positive, with hitchBOT engaging in activities like attending a wedding, visiting art galleries, and even sitting in the cockpit of an Air Canada plane.

HitchBOT began its US journey on July 17, 2015, starting in Marblehead, Massachusetts, with the goal of reaching San Francisco. It visited Boston, Salem, Gloucester, and New York City, covering roughly 300 miles. However, just two weeks into its trip, on August 1, 2015, hitchBOT was found vandalized in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood. Reports confirm it was damaged beyond repair, with its head and arms removed and its body stomped on, effectively ending its journey.

Meanwhile the humans in the back were suffering XD

  • medicine deliveries
  • ward patrols
  • visitor guidance
  • deliver wound care kits and health education materials

Results:

  • reduces fatigue
  • saves multiple trips to supply rooms
  • cuts nurse workloads by 30 percent

That’s not what a nurse does.

Cut nurse workloads by 30%, what a load of hooey.

Andrew Forrest, the Australian billionaire behind mining giant Fortescue – which is investing massively in green energy – says his trips to China convinced him to abandon his company’s attempts to manufacture electric vehicle powertrains in-house.

“I can take you to factories [in China] now, where you’ll basically be alongside a big conveyor and the machines come out of the floor and begin to assemble parts,” he says.

“And you’re walking alongside this conveyor, and after about 800, 900 metres, a truck drives out. There are no people – everything is robotic.”
