Me don’t care I wear t-shirt and short at work … too hot to wear proper office work clothes.

Rain the size of golf balls over here in Neihu.

As long as it feels fresher, cooler afterwards, let it rain.

I was wondering how odd it was to have had basically no typhoon news this far into the summer.

IbisWtf probably has existential crisis

Highs of 38 forecast for today. Stay indoors.

Record breaking heat, highest so far in all history of records in Taipei for July: 39,7 degrees.

And a warning from experts: typhoons may be delayed until mid August. Not good.

I finally found an explanation for the lack of typhoons so far this year.

If we don’t get a typhoon this July, it would be the first time no typhoon formed in the West Pacific since 1951.

Is this why @IbisWtf has been AWOL lately? Hope he’s all right. :open_mouth:

As per Icon’s post: today was the hottest day in Taipei’s recorded history.

To add to the fun and games, our lovely capital has now had 17 days in a row with highs of 36 degrees or higher.

Cold down here at 32 C.

So, as someone who hasn’t actually spent August here in many years (thanks Covid-19!) … what happens in August? Later sunrise, which I’ll appreciate; earlier sunset, which I won’t appreciate - and temperatures? Typically same as July, or warmer, or a touch cooler?

In the cities, August is typically hotter, as all the concrete structures act as heat sinks.

I’m not looking forward to it either. : (
