You remember last time it snowed in Taipei? There.

I never remember Taipei snowing. I did see snow in El Paso though…

Ehem well Xindian was more like frost…but it was freezing!

In the 20 plus years I have been here, I call snow at least 3 times.

I was waiting for some feedback or an epic fail.

I think the humidity destroyed the soles of my leather Ecco shoes.

Haven’t worn them in 2 years. Pulled them out of the shoe closet that is exposed to outside humidity and the soles were falling apart like sand.

Who ever heard of shoe soles just breaking down into nothing but powder?

Maybe you need to take your shoes to the priest and have them bless it… I don’t know. I didn’t know shoes have souls.

If the rubber is breaking down, it’s likely the ozone in the air. Or the rubber wasn’t cured properly.

It’s pretty much the main reason I throw shoes away here: soles crumbling.

One good thing about the weather: wow I’ve been sleeping well lately. With the windows open a bit, great temperatures, and white noise from the rain. During the daytime it’s awful, but curled up at home at night, there’s always something soothing about the sound of rain.

If the shoe is expensive you can have it re soled.

I reckon for socks it might work. Guess I’ll buy a clothes rack and stick the humidifier in the spare room

Most women shoes. My straps fall apart or just unglue from the sole. Humidity is a shoe killer.

Dunno about yours but mine has a setting for clothes drying.

I’m sleeping worse due to four fat cats on my legs…

Aha. I knew it’d work.

I guess the cat wasn’t just sleeping peacefully but gnawing on your legs… because my cat don’t like to sleep peacefully but likes to pounce on anything.

Had the same issue on some Ecco shoes many years ago. Unfortunately the problem wasn’t immediately obvious, the shoe uppers were also in near new condition. Made it to the office and sitting at my desk noticed what I thought were small pieces of gravel underfoot. Cleared them and then a new crop appeared, it was the soles disintegrating! Went back home to change, by the time I got there I was pretty much walking around in my socks with cartoon shoes around my ankles!

Google Ecco shoes sole problem, it was a big issue years ago, they were supposed to have fixed it.

…prone to a form of deterioration called “hydrolysis”, especially in coastal, humid areas, when not worn. In short, they crumble into a sticky mess.
