The Taiwanese for 拿去 sounds a lot like the English take it. That is all.

My son is spoken to primarily in ENglish and Mandarin but he does overhear his grandparents and occasionally his dad when I am trying to figure out how to get myself to low beginner in Taiwanese speak some of it.
A few months ago he said to his mom “na…na…na” “wo yao na”
We said no.
Then he looked at me and said “(Insert his name here which is what he calls himself) take OK?”
I said again “No” and then he went to his grandmather and said “Take, take”
We laughed and then realised he wasn’t speaking Engish to her. He was speaking Taiwanese!
He was just under two but your post brought back that story and a smile to my face.
Tei is na in Taiwanese. I will never forget that.
