The Term "Booty Call"

If I remember correctly, that would be stretching this word extremely far. Ok, time to look for a table of definitions…

What do you call it when it’s the husband asking?

Here you go @yyy . Sorry I only found it in German - English googling brought only porn sites. This is from a (the?) German swinger community website and contains a pretty exhaustive county list. Google translate works reasonably well. And no, the translation seems not wrong for “Roman”. No idea why “Indian” seems empty in the English autotranslate, though.

Anyway, it’s funny to see a horde of pervert Germans discussing passionately about this being" too pervert"

Oh, and your “shower” seems somewhat related, as I was surprised to learn.

Warum nicht zu DeepL wechseln?

I don’t think it’s been regularly used in the US since at least the 80s…I knew what it meant but no one ever used the term. It was extremely common to hear in China in the late 90s and early 00s, though.

I’ve never heard this before. In America to “French” means to kiss with the tongue.

They’re related.

Good point. I do use and very much prefer DeepL for translations. On the other hand, I expect anyone following that link would likely be using google translate in their browser.

The (American) film was in the 90’s. Just sayin’.

I do second your North American perspective on the word French, fwiw.

I was talking about “going Dutch”, not “booty call”.

I’ve heard people use “booty call” in real life for decades. I have not once heard anyone use “go Dutch” in real life.

May have died out since the 60s. It used to be regularly used when I was in high school (admittedly a looong time ago).
OTOH, googling it brings up pages of definitions and usages, and none of them seem to regard it as fallen into disuse.

We usually say Australian kiss for that which is a french kiss but down under

Really I’ve heard quite frequently in America

We have a french equivalent. Litterally called “Booty-plan”

I’ve heard it quite a bit in London.

Not to be confused with Liverpool kiss or Glasgow kiss, which is distinctly less friendly.
