Hopefully the show goes on. I’ll be disappointed if they are delayed again.
They won’t. It’s 2021 or cancellation.

There are starting to be a large number of calls for official boycotts of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Might end up being more of a Cool Runnings type games if they go through with their threats of not attending. No Doubt the CCP will rewrite it all as some great win for their athletes as they take gold in every single event.
Expect more finger pointing as this possible large-scale debacle rolls ahead . . .
Guy
Fucking disgraceful that they’d even think about hosting this.
Old boys running the show in Japan.
Could you imagine a potential Japan with female leadership? Let’s just say they would not be following this course of (non)action.

Amis woman from Taitung aims for gold! It’s a great story.

On the bright side maybe this olympics would be such a disaster that the Olympics ceases to exist.
You think Beijing would willingly give up its upcoming winter games?
Now that one would be worth boycotting.
Guy
Well not immediately, but the committee could be finished if many athletes end up getting covid, which isn’t an unlikely scenario, and that’s a better day for everybody. Sports committees like the IOC are almost always corrupt to the core.
No words… Ayiooo…
This whole circus is such a bad idea.
Can’t they do this on Zoom?
Guy
Yes, just a money and power grab, residents lose.
So with the Olympics opening ceremony scheduled to be held this Friday, how are things going in Tokyo?
Unfortunately, the answer seems to be: not well.

Some photos of “empty” sporting venues
Japan had initially expected 7.8 million spectators at the 42 venues hosting events over the 19-day Games, but now the 68,000-seat National Stadium will be empty for both the opening and closing ceremonies and track and field events.
Wow, that sucks. The Olympics without a stadium full of fans is disappointing.
In past Olympics, many sites were left abandoned spectatorless empty shells. This is the first Olympics that will start this way.
Reporter Jason Pan: Taiwan’s ridiculous “Chinese Taipei” moniker is in 2021 a “dishonest name.” In this detailed piece, he explains why:
