The US government isn’t interested in fighting climate change which is the root cause of increased forest fires. Not sure why Canada should suddenly try to fix it on it’s own ? But just a week ago the US lobbed massive taxes on Canada, it’s like asking your mate to help with moving house after you charged him for dinner at your place.

Yes there is prevention and yes it helps, but ignoring climate change makes it impossible to effectively combat increasingly fierce wildfires. You can smokescreen with ai suggestions and pretend we have the funds for that (after trump slashed pretty much all forest & environmental services budgets) but as things stand, huge wildfires are just getting more common and worse.
