A man in China purchased a first-class plane ticket — and used it to eat a year’s worth of free meals at the VIP lounge at Xi’an International Airport.

The frequent diner purchased a first-class, fully refundable ticket aboard Eastern China Airline.

He used the ticket to gain access to the airport’s VIP lounge, where high-rolling travelers dine for free.

The man re-booked his first-class ticket over and over again and kept the gravy train rolling.

Eastern China Airlines officials only recently figured out the man’s scheme after noticing his single ticket being re-booked 300 times over one year, according to the newspaper report.

Airline officials admitted there was nothing they could do to stop the frequent diner.

A spokeswoman for the carrier called the man’s free-meal scheme a “rare act”.

Still, Eastern China Airlines officials confronted him, and the human meal ticket stopped chowing down.

The freeloader ended up cashing in his fully refundable ticket and getting back all his money.

hahaha.

Well China has that social credit thing right?

It probably means he can no longer book a flight anymore…

True. And some of us remember that ad in the 90’s (or late 80’s?) about the future being so polluted that rich people walk around with masks while some poor guy has to stick a coin into an oxygen machine for a huff.

I wanna call bs on this because you’d think the “I spy on everyone” government would have something in their system which would flag him after so many rebookings.

But it’s funny. Talk about a life hack.

It did, eventually! He’s not the first one to do it though, several have been “caught” in Europe and the US over the years pulling the same trick. I’m sure there’s many, many more who haven’t been stopped/reported.

I think it was mentioned but after 300 rebookings??? Were they using the Beta version of the program?

It was six years ago so I think it’s possible.

It sort of reminds me of this story.

Unless this guy was already in trouble for other offenses, this seems way overblown. I can understand a reprimand for not double checking an email, but seriously? I’ve never in my life heard “hash brown” used as a racial epithet.

This guy is way ahead of the curve.

Reminds me of the old saying, if everyone say you’re _____, then maybe it is you.
