So if you want to be really accurate about what year you are (if you were born in January or February at least) you need to check when CNY was the year you were born.

I find astrology fascinating. I don’t ‘believe’ in it, but I’m interested in the traditions and history and philosophy and whaddeva behind these kind of belief systems.
I ‘am’ a Tiger and a Libra. But then if I’d been told I was a Taurus or a Snake, maybe I’d identify with those? It’s a form of cold-reading like ‘psychics’ do, I guess. Fulfils a lot of the functions of a religion, but without the deities or ethics / behaviour angle.
March 29th 1970 is definitely the year of the Dog, isn’t it?
My wife always had me down as a Dog, and my personality was typical of a Dog. However, after discussing it with her friends she has now got it into her head that I’m actually year of the Pig, but I’m sure she’s wrong. Anyway, supposedly I now share all the typical characteristics of a Pig person.
My mother was really into astrology when we were kids, and bemoaned the fact that she had two air signs as daughters. Air signs are different and get on best with other air signs, unlike the others. So perhaps my mother imprinted my ‘classic Libra’ personality onto me?
All astrological systems share many things in common. It’s interesting that they developed like this, even without contact with eachother. These odd cosmologies that we humans came up with.
Just like religion and stew. Everyone has stew in one form or another.
My wife says that some Chinese astrology expert says it should be Pig. I have the feeling that either some complicated Chinese logic is at play, or there has been a counting error. I’ve decided to continue behaving like a pig regardless.
