Tinnitus acts up in Taiwan

I recently traveled to another country and I noticed my tinnitus went down and the aurual fullness in my left ear dissapated howver once returning i’ve noticed my tinnitus get worse and just a feeling of uneasiness come over me. Has any one experienced anything similar ?

No, sorry cannot corroborate this. No matter which country, culture, or continent, my tinnitus still remains.

This may be a time to evaluate your mental wellbeing.

Stress is many times attributed as a cause of tinnitus and we often see in the clinic that patients complain that their tinnitus gets worse after stressful situations. The evidence that stress is related to tinnitus is based on studies that show high psychiatric comorbidity related to the symptom. About 10– 60% of chronic tinnitus patients suffer from depressive disorders and 28–45% present with clinically relevant anxiety symptoms

Let me tell you Taiwan ain’t gonna help due to the obnoxious noise pollution, 90% caused by gas scooters.

Try cutting back on caffeine , alcohol and going to bed earlier, might help, because tinnitus is often related to sleep (quality and hours slept) .
ALSO take anti histamines if you suffer from allergies.

Wondering if I’m gaslighting myself.

Been receiving advertisements about tinnitus. Thought maybe just scam marketing, or the algorithm are connecting me with friends that have it, or maybe it’s common in Taiwan so advertisers market more for it.

I know for sure I haven’t been interested or concerned with it. But friends have mentioned it.

Thought about it the other day. Woke up 5am from multiple police/fire/ambulance sirens passing by.

So quiet that I “hear” silence.

Now lately, I’m wondering if I have it…

You’ll know when you have it. Hard not to hear that ringing to a certain constant degree.

I get random ringing at times, but it’s rare, when it happens it happens, like a freight train. It goes away after 2 seconds.

My dad has problems with ringing because he said he used to fire guns in the military, and no hearing protection is ever provided.

Do you think it’s genetic? I assume your father didn’t fire guns near you.

it must be so common here, I can’t see how it’s not. I mean, riding on a scooter starting at childhood…
…alcohol will make it worse as well

Just wait until menopause kicks in; then you’ll know…
Oh wait…

Or man-opause

I don’t think it’s the country perse but just traveling by plane. It tends to make it act up.

I went to Brazil once for work and the same thing happened. It’s the traveling I think
