I used to survive on these but I was pretty hungry
- Buy your groceries at wet/dusk markets.
- Buy a Uber Eats membership – they often have very nice promotions (20-30% off of your entire bill). Use them on stores and restaurants that don’t hike up their in-store prices on the platform (e.g. PX Mart).
- Walk or bike everywhere.

Could also shower in the tent. It will keep your tent from smelling and keep clothes clean. Just buy a shower head and use any of the numerous available hoses outside buildings for the water.
Or, save on tent costs by sleeping in the rain
If the rain here does indeed cause baldness, this can also save on haircuts!
Sleep at Taipei main station and take the bus to Costco for the free food samples (Costco Xizhi don’t check membership anymore). Shower at the $50 per hour gyms, and wash your clothes by hand in a bathroom sink.
