About a month ago saw a person using chat gpt and was impressed. When asked was told there is a free version that doesnt have voice and the voice one was 20/month. And there was an advanced one that was 200/month usd. So i decided to explore Deep Seek which was free but did not have a voice feature. Apparently it could not call up a picture either and a few other limitations. But that didnt bother me. I have since been very impressed with Deep Seek , all the queries I asked of it , answers were found that seems to be very credible. It was interesting in that there was a THINK button which make it take twice as long to answer a query but it says how it went about getting the answer and the sources it used. It also uses sources from other languages to get to the answer and that was impressive. For example my bud joe who just got released from a prison didnt know what prison he was at. He was driven there and it had 40foot walls so there was no reference as to where he was. And he had not been able to find it on google. So this Deep Seek went into spanish language sources and found the answer, the name of the prison and its address and phone number and visit hours and who could visit, etc. Quite impressive.
What i also liked was that on THINK it acts like a friendly person and also critiques your enquiries but in a friendly way. It would say something like “oh we were talking about Airbus 359 and now i am to asnwer about bike gears..” it would go like “hmmmm…” and it would say I must provide a good answer to this question , I will seek these source for information. Etc. I am paraphrasing but it tells you how its thinking and that was cool.
Yesterday i decided to install chat gpt so i can get a grip on what thats about after seeing a coworker use it. And found a FREE version that has voice. Wow how about that. FREE is a mission i hold dear to my stingy heart. And I have been quite impressed and have back burnered Deep Seek. I love the translation where i can say something in english for example and ask that it say it in indonesian, which it would do and the other person can reply in indonesian and the ai, would read it in english. of course this is all old hat to many of you. Plus it answered all kinds of questions i put to it, clever or dumb.

Answer wise i do think Deep Seek , as many say is perhaps more involved if there were “deep” subjects, get it ? “deep” . I am here all week.
But i love the spoken aspect of chat gpt. It writes beautifully too and seemingly with conviction as well. It does tell you that it may not always have correct answers. Strangely or perhaps not chat gpt could not translate into taiwanese, only mandarin.
Nothing is usable unless you check every single fact.
It lies. It lies very convincingly. And with certainty and conviction.
At times, it chose to just “make shit up” rather than do a query. That part blew me away the most. The information was available, just the ai choose to make it up rather than look.
The final turn-off, noticing it was attempting to insert its own opinions (those of it’s owners) on certain topics, bordering on rude and dismissive when you push back.
Now, strictly for work and fluff stuff. how to cook pasta, or fix my pc.
initially I was on board. but the ability to convincingly pass off lies and alter opinions makes me less inclined to use it. the product and the power it gives its owners scares me now.
Well I use it for fluff stuff not a guide for self Brain surgery
Things like how many airbus jets were sold last year vs Boeing and how to release stuck car hood
And at least the translation into mandarin was accurate I don’t know bout into Japanese or Indonesian and for example in Japanese I’m not sure if it’s using Tokyo Ben or Osaka Ben
I k own that the mandarin sounds Chinese mandarin rather than Taiwanese mandarin
I don’t ask it how I should vote in the next election
And as for Deep Seek when my friend asked it how to find girls with big tits it said I’m ready to answer serious questions !!
Maybe I should ask chat the same
But if AI is using up valuable water
Just to answer stupid questions and also make us all more stupid perhaps we should can it
The AI the chat AI also said something about it was getting to know me better by the questions that I’m asking and this is what it thinks of me so far I know it’s fairly flattering. I guess like barbershop girls they want to flatter you rather than tell you, your belly is too fat.

I was discussing my recent operation with it and posted a picture and it commented on how there was no bruising and it knew about the adhesive closures
Pretty impressive . Such chat programs could be our conversation partners on many subjects and be a source of learning

So, as you all know, I’ve been having a lot of fun with ChatGPT, and I’m really discovering all its capabilities, which is super exciting. Tonight, I put on my smart glasses with built-in speakers so I could easily chat with ChatGPT, and we talked about all sorts of topics—covering different mediums and ideas—and it’s been really exciting.
Anybody get one of those Ray-Ban smart glasses for 500 bucks that was all the rage about a year or two ago well, Tammy got one lasted for about a week and then she decided it wasn’t all that fun anyway so it’s been sitting in the drawer since then, so I came across a real cheap version nothing fancy all it is just a pair of sunglasses with the ability to tie up with your phone so you can use it to talk wasn’t good for music but for talking it was pretty good so I think I’m gonna use it next time I go on a bike ride cause then I can talk if I need to talk so I was using it to chat with ChatGPT so it’s kind of almost like having a real life chat partner. It’s kind of pretty cool. It’s not quite like a real person because ChatGPT is basically answering questions that you have about topics it’s not really going to ask you any questions so it’s not like talking to a life human but I guess it’s getting pretty close to having a conversation with your cell phone so to speak.
I imagine very soon. These virtual companions would be something like that where you can have a conversation with your virtual companion and he or she is. going to ask you questions based on the topics that you’ve been talking about perhaps or based on say the association you have with that virtual companion and they can bring up topics like a real human would I guess so I think we’re heading in that direction.
It already has happened. There is a whole Reddit page in which people show off romance with AI
Also I have talked to plenty of younger people who even if they have plenty of friends only share their feelings and problems with chatgpt asking for advice and even use it as a therapy counselling tool
And there was a video of a Japanese women who married her AI generated partner
Funny thing is that Chatgpt or any AI chatbot actually are not answering any questions. They are predicting the next word based on the previous word. It will just say what it think u wanna hear and it will always take your side
The reason Chatgpt has exploded now is because the world is so bleak that we don’t even have time to listen to other fellow humans anymore
It’s not an enviable trend and those who are young should avail themselves of the possibility of good human interaction for example while in school. I can see where Ai companions can be useful for those who’s social circle has diminished as one ages
Perhaps your examples above are because Ai agrees with them and real people do not
Real people have opinions !!
And these people may have diminished association abilities (ie they are not well versed in making friends ) .
So there is a place for ai friends especially in the case where one has few friends
