Hate to break it to you but the Taiwan you knew probably barely exists these days. Although you can still get all those snacks you rave about.

Last time I went back in 2012 it was still the good old Taiwan that I knew and it was cool. Really cool.
I had a lot of interest from ladies around me and it couldāve led to something. Iām sure if I had more time.

On the flip side many things are better.
Local people often meet up on Facebook groups and ad hoc hiking groups, stuff like that. There are a lot of divorcees in Taiwan you would be fine but would need to join these groups and get out there.
