Traffic violation points system

Is there a site or a way to look up current points on your drivers license for traffic violations?

In Taiwan, a driver’s license can be suspended if a driver accumulates 12 violation points within a one-year period; this suspension will last for two months, and the driver will also be required to take road traffic safety lessons.

Assume each set of points given clear off your record after a one-year period – would like to look up current points if possible … Thanks!

What happens to commercial vehicles that get tickets and “points off” but the ticket was mailed and no license was shown? Camera trap.

A little off topic, but in NSW Australia, where the vehicle is registered to a Company, the fine is 5 times the original if they don’t nominate the actual driver.

If the Company does the right thing, the nominee wears the original fine and the points.

It’s definitely not Australia haha! Company pays the fines, no need to even show a drivers license or go in to show. there are many people driving various vehicles. So it’s a more complicated thing. I wonder if the vehicle registration itself has a point limit? Must have something or they wouldn’t give points out.

In NSW there is not a limit per se, but Companies can have the Vehicle Registration Plates, or the Vehicle itself impounded if they are found to be ‘frequent’ offenders, though it doesn’t seem to say just what ‘frequent’ is.

Its all really a way of telling those who drive vehicles that are registered to a company that just paying the fine doesn’t necessarily get them off the hook.

Mind you, the above is in regard to Camera Initiated Fines. The driver cant remain nameless if they were pulled over on the road.

I didn’t know about the points system.
What about people driving here with international licenses? (like me)

Most of the violations these days, in my experience, are from traffic cameras catching violations where the points are given to the owner of the vehicle regardless of who’s driving it. My guess is that driving with an international license – unless a police officer stops you and gives you a direct violation – you’re somewhat isolated … Don’t know what happens if you’re renting a car and get a traffic camera violation …

Car rental tickets go to the person that rented the car.

Usually with a nice admin fee from the rental company tacked on!

Damn that sucks. I always just paid the gov directly, didn’t remember any fees. The car rental being paid and done with by the time the ticket comes out. They notify us, and we go in person to pay.

Probably the fee is cheaper than the gas and time to go in person
