So I’m thinking of squeezing in the process to get a Taiwan scooter license test(s), and use it to obtain a Scooter IDP (international driver’s license). Side question, is that doable within one month(?).
Once I return home, I’m curious if I can use the IDP or the Taiwan scooter license to add the scooter/motorcycle vehicle class to my Ontario license? Any experience here? (be it in Canada, or specifically Ontario)? Insights helpful!
For more context: I already have a valid Ontario (full class G/car) license), but I don’t have anything beyond the G class (i.e., I can’t ride scooters/motorcycycles). I’m not sure the different scooter licenses available in Taiwan and how they convert to Canadian/Ontario license vehicle classes.
Bonus question/though experiment: If I don’t return to Taiwan to renew the scooter license on time, my associated scooter IDP would be invalid. However, if I obtain an Ontario M class license (scooter, motorcycle, etc.) by exchanging/converting from my Taiwan scooter license, I suppose I would then be able to simply reapply for the IDP with the Ontario class M license without having to do any tests, right?
