Transformations --fact or fiction?

Many times these are BS, as the above video shows. That Asian guy at the beginning is one of the worst. That is fake. You can tell he did exactly what this guy is describing in the video. Notice the bloat?

Many of these so-called transformation claims are faked like this, meaning you should seriously consider whether or not you can really drop amazing amounts of fat or get “the abz” is such a short time. The fascination with abz is what drives this nonsense.

One of the reasons i posted this is to prevent people from being taken in by false fitness claims. There’s a lot of huxsters out there that want your money and will sell you the latest, greatest thing promising results but this is the sort of trickery they often resort to. It’s unethical and no one in the mainstream fitness community is trying to educate folks about it because education isn’t what they do.

I figure an informed consumer is a smart consumer and I hate to see folks get lied to.

That’s great, thanks for sharing.

I was shocked last summer when I was back in the States at the amount of infomercials for weight loss and body building that promise ‘immediate results.’ I thought, surely people can’t be THAT naive! But I know there are enough desperate people out there who have ‘tried every diet and gotten no results’ for these false ads to pull in enough custom to make a good buck. Sad, really.

The key thing is that practically anything will work…

As long as you actually do it.

The main issue people get into is actually sticking to it past the first day or two. They get sore, and most drop out, feeling too ashamed to ask for any money-back guarantee, because they know damn well that they quit.

They key thing I feel is to educate people to EXPECT to feel really really really sore for at least a few days and up to a week after getting into any workout that’s actually going to do something. That’s where so many people drop out. I’ve been working on getting some buddies of mine to workout and the first thing I let them know before we did a really simple “big 3” workout of squats, deadlifts, bench and that’s it was that they were going to be insanely sore in their entire body the next day, but to not worry about it and to let me know when they feel better to hit the gym again.

Most of the programs don’t set this expectation up front.

That said, there are 12 week programs out there that really do work, particularly for people who haven’t worked out much before. Body 4 Life is the grand daddy of these. Insanity and P90x are also great, albeit a bit hard on volume. Starting Strength 3x5 and Stronglifts 5x5 are solid. I’ve tried all of these before, and they’ve worked for me. Once again, nearly anything will work… as long as you do it.

LOL. My little girl lifts an 8kg so i’d think a big guy might want a 16kg

16kg is what we usually recommend but we sell the customer what they want.
