Transgender in Taiwan

Hello everyone,

I am moving to Kaohsiung soon and I would like to know if, as a transgender foreigner, it is possible to see a doctor in Taiwan and ask a prescription for my testosterone injections(which I have been taking for almost 5 years) If so, what type of doctor should I visit, how expensive is it, and does anyone have any recommendations for hospitals or doctors?

Thank you for your help!

Just go to any neurologist at a hospital.if you are resident and have Taiwan’s national health insurance very cheap.

Pharmacies will usually sell it to you out of pocket in Taiwan. Taiwan even has domestic pharmaceutical companies making testosterone medication. Picked up some last time for my HRT, my doctor in the UK was cool with it.

Pharmacies sell pills not vials for self injection I believe?

The OP was asking for injections. I’ve only had testosterone injections at a hospital.

Taiwans pharmacy will sell you almost anything if they wanted. I’ve talked to the owners before and they really only get checked for heavily controlled medication like opiates or benzodiazepines.

I bought Taiwanese testosterone cypionate last time. Was 150nt for a 1ml vial.

You can get brand name foreign made but it’s 250nt a vial.

Did you mean urologist there? That would be more standard in general, I believe.

I guess either is possible, depending on your point of view!
