I asked around a bunch of small clinics and they said only hospitals in Taiwan are allowed to do PCR tests. But my destination country just needs any PCR test administered by a medical professional, it could be an at home test that’s verified by a medical professional. I don’t feel like forking over 3.5-5k for a PCR at a hospital. Perhaps some small clinic can just write me a doctor’s note after looking at my PCR test.

How are you going to do a PCR test yourself? Paying 3.5k for a test at a hospital is substantially cheaper than buying a PCR machine.
Also, which destinations still require PCR tests?
China does, likewise a few others (Japan is one I think), if you lack the necessary vaccinations.
