Travel with children in Taiwan

Hi,

As I have just arrived in Taiwan and would like to plan a trip. I was wondering where you have travelled to with your children in Taiwan. What are the interesting places to go with children between 7 and 12 years old? What did you and your children enjoy?

Thanks,

Michelle

IMHO kids like everything except shopping. I have little kids and i know a lot of couples that travel with their kids. We have done the 7 hour trip to and fro from Kenting by car, taroko, sun moon lake, taidong, yilan, yeliu, lalashan, I think most of Taiwan with them. They loved it all. taiwan is so beautiful, that the nature itself is enough to keep the kids all awonder.

What are you looking for?? How many days? any special requirements?

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to organise a trip of 1 to 1,5 week. I would like the kids to experience the new country and culture. Furthermore I would like them to participate in some cultural activities. I heard something about pottery making near Taipei and the paper factory in Tainan. Do you have any other ideas or experiences with your own kids.

Thanks for your help.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this earlier.Here is another forumosan’s blog http://kidzone-tw.blogspot.com/

The pottery making is in Yingge, with rows of shops selling pottery around it. We do whatever activity we run into when we travel. Going to one of the farms is a great idea…for a whole day of fun. It’s in here somewhere by Mother Teresa. we had so much fun, riding horses, feeding pigs, milking cows. Nice.
