I haven’t been to home sweet Oklahoma in almost three years. The best time to go for me would be on September 11. Is that a stupid time to go? I will take my daughter with me. Am I a bad father? I think it should be safe, but I am worried that other people might think less of me. Especially if we get blown up.
I travelled on 9-11-2002, and transitted through New York JFK airport.
It was spooky, and even the people working at the airport & on the different airplanes seemed a little tense.
But, nothing happened.
I think Bush & the gang have co-opted 9-11 and filled the world with fear and bluster, but one thing good that came of that is that travelling with American carriers is a lot safer today with regard to security measures.
I can’t remember who I heard say it first, but I agree with this sentiment: if you pussy out of flying/travelling because of the WTC attacks - especially if you pussy out on September 11th - then the terrorists have scored one point; they’ve got you living in (at least a modicum of) fear.

I would go ahead and go. Security will be good because it is an anniversary, and so nothing it likely to happen. Even if something did happen, it would be unlikely to be on your particular flight.
I was on the first plane that left Taiwan for the US after 9/11 and everyone thought I was crazy then, but it went just fine (was originally scheduled for 9/13).
I don’t know why everyone is so worried about a terrorist attack on 9/11. Just stock up on duct tape and plastic sheeting, and everything will be fine.
i was on the plane to taipei when the entire thing occured. i wouldnt be afraid to fly… again… on that day. it’s everyting post 9/11 thats freaked me out the most
