Trump Indicted! 2023

Are you kidding me? Most people who are born into money fall for the societal delusion (that they are often immersed in from birth) that, because they were born on third base they must have hit a triple.

They will do everything they can to maintain the quality of life they grew up having, as they often have no idea how to function as a person who needs to know the price of eggs. They have a penchant to throw money at problems to make them go away, and they don’t care how that problem goes away. This is where their association (however indirect, since it is often their underlings doing the dirty work for them) with corruption comes in.

They are very much motivated by money. They don’t know how to function without it.

I’d prefer serving under a Bush than a Clinton arriviste. Look at the patrician manners of Barbara Bush vs. the uncouthness of Hillary. In power structures give me a Bush, Scranton, Rockefeller etc. over politicians on the take (Clinton, WEF fluffers).

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. I agree with this but I suffer no delusion that one ideological group is less corrupt than any other. The rich have been rat fucking the poor since forever. I can’t change that but fuck them.

It’s not illegal to pay hush money over an affair with a porn star.

Sorry, I refuse to file it under “shame”. There was nothing wrong with what I did, seeing all I did was possess weapons, something that you, Tom , Dick, and Harry does all the time and you were not subject to jail.

The prosecution is simply a means for them to have me deported. When I was talking with my attorney that’s exactly what he said, that their intent is to have me removed from the USA, because without a criminal conviction there was no real way to deport someone.

If I was in jail for doing something evil and shameful, then I will concede to that and not mention it, but I did nothing evil.

The law is the law and that’s all they cared about.

If I was allowed to “redeem” myself by serving in the military, I would have done it.

Keep going with that. I’ll go with wait and see. Trump shuffles money. That’s what up.

Sure. I was in the military. You are not suitable for military service. Now, let’s end this. I’m having another very stressful day and sorting through your nonsense just isn’t in the cards.

I hope your diet and exercise plans are going well, and I am glad that you are making efforts to go back to college. Good day.

Trump was indicted under New York State law for making an illegal campaign contribution to his own campaign. Unlike the Cohen and Edwards cases below the Justice Department declined to indict Trump so New York State DA’s are prosecuting him.

“ Michael Cohen was sentenced to 36 months in prison on Wednesday, in part for “brazen violations of the election laws” when he orchestrated hush money payments on behalf of President Donald Trump during the 2016 election, according to federal prosecutors.

Earlier this year Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance law and other offenses as part of a plea agreement with the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan… . .

  • Prosecutors said the purpose of the hush payments was to influence the 2016 election, and treated them as campaign contributions, which are subject to restrictions under the Federal Election Campaign Act.
  • Cohen’s payment to Clifford, they said, exceeded the $2,700 limit on personal contributions to a single candidate for an election. The payment he helped arrange for McDougal flouted the ban on corporations contributing directly to campaigns.

The case has some parallels to the federal campaign finance prosecution of former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, a two-time Democratic presidential candidate. Edwards was indicted in 2011 on charges that he was part of a scheme during his 2008 campaign to have two of his supporters spend almost $1 million to conceal an affair.

Prosecutors argued that the payments were tantamount to illegal campaign contributions, but the Justice Department eventually dropped its case against Edwards after trial jurors deadlocked on five of the criminal counts against him and acquitted him on the sixth.“

Greenwald dedicates an episode to the situation.

IANAL, but just based on your description, that sounds like a pretty shaky case to make.

Yeah, that’s pretty bizarre. I mean, they quite obviously weren’t campaign contributions because they were ultimately paid to Daniels/Clifford (I assume). Whether the payment was intended to “influence the election” is another question, but that wasn’t the charge.

Who would want to fuck Stormy Daniels, anyway? She’s pretty yuck.

She’s just a walking pair of fake big tits.

One thing I don’t quite understand about all this is why Trump cared about burying the story in the first place. I mean, “I banged a pornstar, she took my money and she loved it” is a completely on-brand message for Trump and I can easily imagine him boasting about it at rallies.

As someone who married a Taiwanese with exceptional symmetrical beauty, I find the “Hollywood blonde” look to be very average, if that. Prefer Asian and Latin concepts of beauty.

Not really so great with the religious vote.

I guess but … it’s not like they didn’t know who he is. Consider Pence. They were just willing to overlook it to get their agenda pushed through, which worked out great.

Sure, but why rub it in their face? A little cash, sorted. Or so he thought

Seems shaky to me too, especially for hanging the first criminal indictment of a former president on. What’s next? Calling cosmetic surgery by a president an “illegal campaign contribution?”

Yeah, the logic there seems identical, if he had any work done during a campaign.
