Trump's $2000 tariff dividend

Think it will happen?
Wasn’t there some kind of portal for overseas citizens when it happened with covid?

$2000

That’s like… two cartons of eggs or one-hundredth of the cost of a routine visit to the doctor?

nah. primary care physician visit, out of pocket, no insurance, cash pay, in California cost me $450

Was actually a good health system too. Not Kaiser.

Likely will be when you file taxes and not an actual check mailed out.

You mean a deduction?

Well, a bit more than that here. I know it would help with the kids college quite a bit

That’s very good money.

Kaiser in California is awesome. I miss it.

Right now, sounds like nothing other than what’s already in law, from bessent’s comments.

The things you can do when you rightfully put your own citizens first.

Anybody remember the DOGE dividend? $5000 checks sent out to all Americans from the $2 trillion in savings Musk was going to find after slashing the pork out of government?

Hello?

Hello?

Anyone there?

Bueller? Bueller?

This is beyond dumb. If we have a surplus, it should go towards the national debt.

you should run for office with that idea

Tariffs are dumb.

Paying back the national debt doesn’t buy as many votes as a promise land of $5k, $2k which would be planned to be delivered after the 2026 midterms…. But never done of course as it would be Biden’s fault

Tariffs are dumb unless your trading partner has low tariffs on your products while you have high tariffs on their products. Then your’re really smart and your trading partner is kinda dumb.

I thought I saw Trump was wavering and suggested might be tax credit, not cash.

That’s not how it works.

If your partner jumps off a bridge, are you going to jump too?

A tariff is a tax. Your partner can tax itself all it wants.

I don’t know about you but I’ve been working in international business for 25+ years now and that’s exactly how it worked between the United States and its Asian trading partners for decades. The U.S. had very low tariffs on imported products from Asia and its trading partners in Asia had very high tariffs on U.S. imports other than agricultural and a few other products it needed from the U.S. and didn’t produce itself.

And Asia suffers from higher prices.
