Trying to find Japanese style temple near Yangmingshan

Years ago I went to see cherry blossoms up near Yangmingshan. Just past that was a huge Japanese style temple, huge field of grass, with a huge cast uron bell that had a log to hit it.

Everyone I talk to has no idea about anyplace like this. Does anyone know this place, name, location?

Was this before or after the KMT tore down all the Japanese things?
