Typhoons 2021

Yeah, perhaps @IbisWtf made a donation to the Gods of the Spinning Winds when he realised they were coming towards him.

I know what I’m talking about!

First big sudden downpour started 20 mins ago in Taipei. Yesterday alternated between patches of deep blue skies and white clouds to low dark storm clouds. Definitely typhoon weather.

Someone on some thread asked if we had to WFH if there was a typhoon day. I can’t find that thread and this is the most closely related.
The answer is: yes, the MOL says if you WFH, you must still work. Irrelevant for many anyway. Every company I worked at either extended the following work days or made us work on Saturday to make up the time.

The government just applied it’s secret weapon and directed the typhoon for a direct hit on Shanghai.

Yeah, latest GFS moves the landfall all the way to Ningbo/Shanghai areas

But still, I would take it with a grain of salt, let’s see how the Typhoon moves after its “Pause” near Ishigaki, it could still make some big shifts.

Just call it, In-Fa, In-Fa, In-Fa …

Ooops, Pardon me Taiwan. Just on my way to China.

it is almost comedic

edit: soundtrack

I guess Taiwan got its money’s worth on that deflection shield we installed last year.

Looks like a typical Communist invasion attempt.

Look at the size of those waves!
If it gets to that point, be safe out there, @MalcolmReynolds !

Is this how we retake China?

By sending them free water?

They have enough from tears of CCP hurt feelings.

Yes. We are such a generous country to China.

Why won’t they appreciate us?

With any luck we’ll dodge the typhoon and just get the heavy rain needed to fill the reservoirs and cool the insane summer heat.

Keep up. It be dodged already. Dis game over.

(Hope it don’t do a late turn south and make me look like a dick)

“luck” for who?! I wanted the day off. :sob:

I want my roof garden to still be a roof garden.
