United States Gov. v Google LLC

Things are getting interesting in the antitrust case against Google, seems the company has to be broken up:

  1. chrome supposed to be spun-off
  2. browsers to offer menu of choice of search engine
  3. sweetheart deals priviledging a specific search engine in return for cash (e.g. google’s $20 bn annual fee to Apple) to be banned
  4. Search data to be licensable
  5. sellingoff stakes in AI companies participating in search

Google is already having to contend with the loss of search engine revenue and traffic due to AI, this is the last thing they need when they’re in danger of becoming the next Yahoo.

Google google Google, and it exploded.

Though I’m not sure it’s fair to call Google a monopoly as there are other search engines, browsers, and whatnot. Microsoft I can understand… but not google.

Can they not transfer their browser to be ran in a different country?

Sure, Russia?

Because that’s what companies that wants to distribute copyrighted materials do.
