Teaching Jobs for Older People

Is it true that teaching positions in Taiwan almost always goes to people in the 20’s and 30’s? I am an American in my mid-50’s and thinking about retiring early and moving to Taiwan. I would want to work for a few years until my 401k kicks in. I have BBA in Information Systems and have worked 30 years programming computers. Do the teaching schools in Taiwan hire older teachers? Is there a mandatory retirement age in Taiwan?

Assuming you’re working at a public school. The Article 20 says you have to retire if you have worked for 5 years AND you are 65. So, it sounds you may renew your contract if you and school want.
