I’ve been reading the posts here for a few hours and havent been able to get an exact answer to my question, so apologies if there is an exact thread on this:
I am a US citizen looking to go back. My mother lives in Taiwan and holds a Taiwanese passport and residence in Taiwan.
My question is, without a job or enrollment certification, can i apply for an ARC card? passport? (i am over the conscription age) I plan on staying for a while in taiwan, as i already have a 5 yr visitor visa.
If so, what do i need to get done? I can start the FBI background check easily enough. I have my birth certificate. Do i need to get my birth certificate translated here in the states or can i do it in Taiwan?
