USA possibility of single party state

Gee, maybe they should get together and form a party.

But the House doesn’t even decide based on the number of Representatives; each state gets one vote based on the majority party in that state’s delegation. Doesn’t matter the size of the state or the population- California gets one vote, Wyoming gets one vote. The Democrats won 55% of the popular vote in Wisconsin; through gerrymandering, the Republicans won the most number of seats, and would control the state’s vote on the presidency.

Yep. It makes any multi-party paradigm absurd without changes.

Democrats and liberals are just as racist as republicans. Theyre just far more nuanced about it because the art is about how to hurt people who you represent. All you have to do is go to silicon valley and see how segregated the area is.

In the 1860s, the Democrats were mostly pro-slavery (with some northern Ds opposed, but anti-abolitionist); the Whigs (the other major party ) were split. People were complaining the two-party system was paralyzed.
So a bunch of anti-slavery politicians quit both parties, and founded a new party- the Republicans- and a fairly obscure backwoods Illinois congressman won the presidency.
(I feel like I should be adding “And now you know…the rest of the story.”)
Don’t like the present parties? Form a new one.
