Using Steam in Taiwan

I’m a bit confused: so your account isn’t “home country” now? What is it, and why doesn’t that work?

From the beginning with Steam, I’ve just been signed up with a Taiwanese credit card, and it expects me to be in Taiwan. I don’t remember if I’ve ever tried to buy anything when I’ve been outside Taiwan.

Sorry, my home country and credit card is not Taiwan, but I’m in Taiwan, and signed up first time recently while in Taiwan.

Is Steam Wallet available at 711 or someplace like shown here?

I resolved my problem by using a VPN on my phone and then signing in and buying the game and now I can play the game on my computer or wherever while in Taiwan.

I can’t purchase anything.

Since I “joined” while in Taiwan, it won’t let me change my account to home country until I return to that home country even though all my payment details (credit card, address, phone, etc.) are from that home country. It says I have to return to home country for first purchase.

Edit: Living in Taiwan, home country not Taiwan.

I guess I could try VPN but on new computer and haven’t added any VPN yet.

There is supposedly something called Steam Wallet Code that you can get at Taiwan 711 and then log into Steam and buy. I guess this works for people in Taiwan that don’t have a credit card, paypal, etc. or other methods of payment.~~
