Valentines in Taiwan 2025

This year flowers expensive! (even at combi). I instead will go out a buy a nice meal. (her choice as she made a reservation at a place I never went to, will see how much tonight)

I was surprised 7-11 and FamilyMart had some themed sweets strongly discounted before Valentines day and not after.

Yes, but the flower (just one) seems a bit high

The flowers weren’t there yesterday. I did not go today yet.
A meal is a better choice than flowers anyway.

Well…it’s specially imported for today so… :man_shrugging:

Nice ad, good for people who forgot the holiday. Condom sales should also be good, can get both at the same place.

We had seafood. Oyster friend rice, fish and clams. About 6x more than the 7-11 rose.

:howyoudoin:

I didn’t know Taiwan celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14th. For some reason I thought it was another day.

There can be 2

There are 2 new years

Three. Feb 14, Mar 14, July 7, IIRC. It’s a rip off.

True dat!

I’ve managed to ignore the others all these years without too much pushback from the wife (White Day is one of them and I always say that’s a Chinese celebration so forget it). But I definitely need to do something for February 14th every year. We typically have a nice meal at lunch. We had Japanese noodles and Cremia soft ice cream. I was cheap this year.

Anything like this essence to me is bad, the Chicken seems popular when I was in Singapore but tastes bad, not sure why you like this?

Also interesting it’s a American company.

And as for the Oysters, I think it made me sick (unwell Sunday), so no more Oysters for me, ever. Oysters may want to desire sex, but desire (need) to the toilet overrides that.

I don’t like it, you’re the one eating clams and oysters. I just posted that as a public service reminder about the benefits of your romantic dinner ingredients

Another public service reminder! The best food in Kaoshiung is the fresh seafood, though, or so I’m told…
