I’ve been to the vet list thread and still have not found any information. Please list any vets in the Hsinchu area. The closer to Jhubei City, the better, but anywhere will do. I have to get my kitten neutered! Please help!
I have been looking for a good vet in Hsinchu for some time… I know of 2 big places where they sell pets and lots of pet’s things, and they have a vet, but i dont like them, so i dont recommend them… if you still want to know where they are located then… let me know…
We’ve used the one at the big petshop on Jinguo (can’t recall its name, but it’s somewhere between Xida and Yanping, near HomeBox, and has a fish shop of the same name across from it. Dr. Lin speaks some English and has neutered our cat and spayed one of our dogs, as well as the usual vaccination and malady stuff. His place is clean and he is very honest and professional. He’s a little rougher with my animals (when checking their gums, etc.) than I would like, but I’ve never met a Taiwanese vet who isn’t. Our cat adores him and rolls all over the table and purrs at him, much to his amusement. (I don’t think he’s used to that…)
I went to that one, and i think that for general things its ok, but with the latest skin problem of my dog, when i requested a detailed check he just told me “its a normal thing and take this shampoo, use it for xxx days and it will repeat every couple of months…” after that mediocre answer i decided not to go there any more … i still buy the food there lol
There are heaps of them around Hsinchu - but i cannot give you any first hand experience about the quality of service, etc. of all of them. I usually go the ‘Kingdom of animals’. They have 2 huge stores, one on the corner of Jingua and Dongda in Hsinchu, and one in Jhubei, on the corner of JhongHua and Guangming 6. They have a team of 5 vets who rotate, so it’s a lucky guess who you will get. For neutering it is perfect to go there - they have tons of experience. I also observed how they handle emergencies, such as a dog hit by a car, and i think they are professional. [but also a bit rough when it comes to sticking thermometers into the animal’s ass!]
Other recommendations are dedicated animal hospitals. Apparently the one in Siwei Rd in Hsinchu, very close to the Giraffe and Cambridge and Hess schools is pretty good. There is another brand new animal hospital in Jhubei, Sec 1 Wunsing Rd [the road that takes you to the HSR]. Good luck!
