Hi all,
What happens if you have a teaching job lined up in Taiwan and enter Taiwan exempt of a visa (90 day visa free)?
A person from my prospective employment establishment said it will just cost more money and add more time.
Could anyone please elaborate?

This post may contain the information you need.
The visa exempt stay is 14 days for the OP in the thread.
I don’t think visa-exempt entry can be converted to a resident visa later. You need to enter with an actual visitor’s visa.
Can you get a visitors visa in Taiwan? I mean, can you go somewhere in Taiwan to do this if you entered visa exempt?

you can get your ARC from visa exempt without leaving Taiwan, if you get a white collar job and paperwork is done within 90 days.

yes, you may want to confirm this answer from an online stranger by reading an official instruction.

Ok, I was probably thinking of a JFRV situation.
